There are plenty of travel mug in the UK that want to'talk the talk'(say really cool items to impress you and make you buy stuff), as the word goes. This flask is one of the few that says a whole lot and follows it up. First of all, the build quality of the flask is exceptional. A solid metallic shell on the not in the main cylinder and large drinking part of the cap feels top quality and sturdy. Even the plastic parts (of which it's very little) are perfectly crafted, inside the key cap and the smaller secondary cap. A fascinating feature, that someone has put some thought into could be the tightening of the spout cap-fitment and the drinking cap. Both have a few turns to lock into place, however they stop without further tightening needed. This is ace when taking the lids off and didn't have to wrestle the caps off. WELL DONE DESIGNERS/ENGINEERS! Second, the flask'claims'to help keep fluids hot for 24 hours. This is the first thing I tested when the flask arrived. A complete kettle of boiling water went in. 6 hours in - still hot enough to scold. 12 hours in - again, hot enough to make a fresh brew of your choice. 24 hours - the water was warm. Maybe if I had not opened the flask to test, and left it for the full 24 hours straight it would have been hotter, but in fact, a flask of coffee won't last 24 hours around myself. My only gripe with the flask may be the strap provided to carry when out and about. There's the opportunity the flask wasn't built to be hauled around such as a solid water tank. I am a big dude and so the size suits me, the strap unfortunately is flimsy. We completed the 5-mile hike utilising the strap fine. But I wouldn't call it comfortable. I will soon be using my tactical vest to transport my awesome flask later on, that is fine with me. Each stop had an attractive hot brew waiting! I don't feel that most people will carry this around that way I really do, but if you are not intimidated by this flasks heft, it's brilliant. I would suggest this to anyone on long visits from a kettle/coffee/tea drinking facilities. |
